Question Ranger in DoA

Hey all, I've just come back to GW after a short hiatus, during which the Ursan nerf went down. Now personally, I enjoyed Ursan as it opened up alot of opportunities to get into groups I otherwise wouldn't be let in.

My question is, is there a place for Rangers in groups in DoA (or for that matter, high end PvE) or am I out of luck?

After the nerf to the Norn Blessings the PvE metagame had lots of builds going around, and I believe there was one build that consisted of six Rangers and two Monks. Five of the Rangers used a combination of skills to be able to reliably upkeep Ursan Blessing with approximately one-twelfth downtime. Unfortunately, due to the nerf to the actual Ursan bar, and the constraints requiring six Rangers to be in the party, one of which using a build that hadn't seen the light of day for years, caused Post-Nerf Ursan to be unpopular.

However, I'm sure you could get a Guild group together to run it. Still very effecive if you do it right.

As for traditional Ranger builds in high-end PvE areas, the good old BA/interrupter works well for FoW, and BA/BHA/Blind-Bot/interrupter Rangers work for UW. Modified SBP team builds work for Urgoz's/Deep. However, if it's DoA you're looking for, perhaps you could get a Guild group together for NM and run Splinterbarrage? I can't think of anything effective enough for HM though.

Hi in the team build I've been running there are 2 builds that rangers can play. If u PM me I could try getting some guildies together and we can trash up DoA. One version is using bow skills, but another is scythe. As we are short often on melee it would stop the 'odd but extremely fun!' melee monk my guildies LOVE to hate. X Mithrandir X

PS Some EOTN skills would be required...

In DoA, as a ranger, you can go as a R/Mo with some spirits and enchantments, working together with some monks. Forgot the exact build, but its also used for some dungeons (HM). You should ask players there or guildies for the builds they use.

DoA isn't so dead. You can do it with cryway and maybe with some other builds.

This is just an idea right now, it sprung from me and a friend always being online when no one else is, havn't tested it yet...

Both of us are rangers, and if we ran an echo chained cry-way build, and both running a tripple necro sabway, how would you guys expect that to work out?

I think every non-caster cryers use Mind Wrack. It's cheap and long lasting.
